Telehealth ConsultationsAccess GP care from home with secure online consultations and virtual appointments.

Rotem Medical Family Practice offers online GP consultations, providing convenient and flexible access to care when you can’t attend in person. Whether you’re managing a repeat script, discussing test results or feeling unwell at home, Telehealth allows you to speak with your doctor securely and privately.

All Telehealth appointments are conducted by one of our GPs, with the same level of care and confidentiality you’d receive in the clinic.

What Can Be Managed by Telehealth?

Telehealth is ideal for straightforward matters that do not require a physical examination.

These include:

  • Repeat prescriptions and referrals
  • Review of blood test or imaging results
  • Mental health care discussions
  • Follow-up consultations
  • Advice for mild cold or flu symptoms
  • Chronic condition reviews or check-ups
  • Medical certificates (if clinically appropriate)

When an In-Person Visit May Be Needed

Some health issues require a physical examination, procedure or further testing that cannot be completed via Telehealth. If this is the case, your GP will advise you during your call and help arrange a follow-up visit at the clinic.

Examples may include:

  • New or worsening symptoms needing examination
  • Skin checks or physical injuries
  • Immunisations or procedures
  • Care plan initiation or assessments that require measurements

How It Works

Telehealth appointments are conducted via phone or video, depending on your preference and the nature of the consultation.

Once booked, our reception team will confirm the time and method. Please ensure you’re in a quiet, private space and available to answer at the scheduled time. Standard appointment times apply.

Billing and Eligibility

Telehealth consultations are billed privately or bulk billed in line with current Medicare guidelines. Eligibility may depend on whether you’ve had a face-to-face appointment at the clinic within the last 12 months, as per Medicare requirements.

We will confirm any out-of-pocket costs or rebate eligibility at the time of booking.

To book an online GP consultation, simply contact our reception team or book online.

We’ll confirm your eligibility, consultation type and whether phone or video is most suitable.
